Wiper Party Vows Disciplinary Action Against MPs Who Supported Controversial Finance Bill 2024
The Wiper Democratic Movement party has vowed to discipline its Members of Parliament who backed the controversial Finance Bill 2024.
In a clear statement, the party stated that it had directed its legislators to oppose the bill. MPs who ignored this order would now face repercussions.
The party underscored its dedication to this position, highlighting that no exceptions would be made once the disciplinary actions begin.
Among those targeted for disciplinary action is Dadaab MP Farah Maalim, who recently voted for the Finance Bill, defying the party’s directive.
Wiper stated that members who supported the bill betrayed Kenyans, and the party is determined to take strict measures against them.
“All our MPs were instructed to reject the Finance Bill 2024, and that is documented. There were no exceptions,” part of the Wiper Party’s statement read.

In another statement, Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka praised Kenyan youths for protesting against the bill, calling it unreasonable, unsound, and uncorrectable.
Kalonzo accused the police of using force to intimidate peaceful protestors exercising their constitutional rights.
“You have openly shown your displeasure with this deceitful and insensitive Kenya Kwisha regime, which seems focused on misappropriating your hard-earned money,” Kalonzo stated.
“My admiration and appreciation for Kenya’s #GenZ grow significantly every hour,” he added.
The Azimio leader also praised the 115 members of parliament who voted against the bill.
