    We Stormed Out Of Azimio Meeting- Wajackoyah

    We Stormed Out Of Azimio Meeting- Wajackoyah

    Roots Party leader George Wajackoyah has revealed they walked out of the Azimio la Umoja meeting on Wednesday.

    In a statement via X on Thursday, July 18, Wajackoyah said the Roots party disagreed on the formational of a national convention to address challenges facing Kenyans.

    The Roots Party leader also noted that the party had held an NEC meeting and resolved to support dialogue calls from President William Ruto.

    โ€œThe Roots Party of Kenya held its NEC Meeting yesterday and resolved not to support the dialogue with Ruto. We later on disagreed with the constitutional convention and stormed out of the meeting,โ€ said Wajackoyah.

    His statement comes after goons stormed the Azimio la Umoja press briefing at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Foundation while Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka was making his speech.

    The goons ordered everybody to get out of the venue while throwing away chairs. As a result, Kalonzo and other participants were forced to move out of the precinct.

    Meanwhile, the ODM party has resolved to support having a national conversation.

    The Raila Odinga-led party held an NEC and parliamentary group meeting on Wednesday and committed to the move which President Ruto fronts.

    โ€œThe ODM PG/NEC meeting today resolved that we should have a National Convention/Conversation to address long-standing issues that affect Kenyans. A conducive environment should be created for the benefit of this initiative. Every Kenyan must be brought to the table,โ€ ODM stated.
