Lawyer and activist David Morara Kebaso has urged embattled Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua to ally, as Gachagua faces an ongoing impeachment trial in the Senate.

Morara, in a post on X, suggested that Gachagua holds crucial information that could shed light on the country’s political landscape. He challenged the Deputy President to disclose this information, which could potentially be of great value to Kenyans.

“I suspect you have vital intel that could assist me in my vampire diaries. Care to share?”, Morara tweeted.

Morara explained that due to Gachagua’s current impeachment struggles, he will not attack the Deputy President. Instead, he has extended a peaceful offer, urging the two of them to collaborate in exposing the Kenya Kwanza Government.

“I don’t believe in kicking someone when they’re down. Rigathi, I see a missed call from me on your phone,” Morara posted.

Morara’s call for unity comes as the Deputy President faces an impeachment trial following a parliamentary vote. Out of 281 MPs, a significant majority supported the motion for Gachagua’s removal, which now awaits a Senate decision.

The impeachment motion, spearheaded by MP Mwengi Mutuse, accuses Gachagua of corruption, defiance, and promoting ethnic divisions, among other allegations.

Speaker Moses Wetangula announced on Thursday that only 44 MPs opposed the motion, with one abstaining from the vote.

Morara’s proposal suggests Gachagua could provide more insight as Morara intensifies his critique of the Kenya Kwanza Government.

Morara gained attention through his viral social media posts, in which he holds the Ruto administration accountable for unfinished projects. His unconventional style involves traveling nationwide, showcasing government projects that stalled after significant investments.

His efforts to expose the Kenya Kwanza administration have led to multiple run-ins with the law, including two arrests and an attack that left him hospitalized. He was assaulted at the Bomas of Kenya on Friday 4 while participating in public discussions about Gachagua’s impeachment.
