Wagner Chief Prigozhin Dies in Russian Plane Crash

According to reports from Russia’s Tass news agency, the Russian Federal Agency for Air Transport has reportedly begun an inquiry into the crash of a jet that occurred in the Tver Region on August 23. The incident occurred on Wednesday (August 23).

Yevgeny Prigozhin was on the list of passengers who were on board the flight that was lost in an accident.

According to the Russian authorities, Yevgeny Prigozhin, the leader of the Wagner mercenary group, was one of the passengers on board a business jet that crashed in Russia.

The accident of a business plane that was traveling from Moscow to St. Petersburg on Wednesday (August 23) resulted in the deaths of all ten individuals on board, according to Russian emergency personnel.

TASS has been informed by emergency response services that there have been four bodies discovered. After impact with the earth, the aircraft apparently caught fire and was destroyed by the flames. It had been in the air for a little less than half an hour.

According to unconfirmed allegations in the media, the jet allegedly belonged to Prigozhin, who was the creator of the Wagner private military business.

There was an initial lack of clarity over whether or not the Wagner boss had boarded the trip.

Prigozhin, whose private military unit Wagner served alongside Russia’s regular army in Ukraine, staged an armed uprising against the leadership of Russia’s armed forces at the end of June. The uprising did not last long.

The Kremlin has stated that he will be banished to Belarus, and his fighters will either retire, move with him to Belarus, or enlist in the Russian armed forces.
