Video of Slain MCA Paul Leshimpiro’s Last Request to Ruto Weeks Before Death Surfaces
Fresh information has surfaced about the fervent appeal made by the late Angata Nanyekie Member of County Assembly (MCA), Paul Leshimpiro, to President William Ruto three weeks before his demise.
The legislator was fatally shot by individuals believed to be bandits on Sunday morning along the Morijo-Baragoi Road in Samburu.
On January 29, Leshimpiro made an appearance on various media platforms, urging the leader of the state to implement strong measures against the criminals causing distress to families in the area.
The MCA firmly requested, indicating that the problem persisted in numerous households.
“This morning we were trying to call the security personnel because there was an issue. A second person is dead today when we are burying another one. Mr President, you do not have to wait any further. You need to take an action,” he told the press.
“Do not suggest to us that you are less powerful than a bandit. Do not suggest to us that you are less armed than a bandit.”
During that period, the criminals raided the residence of Richard Lesiyampe, who formerly served as the Principal Secretary of Agriculture. Many locals had chosen to house their livestock there under the belief that it was a more secure location.
The occupants disclosed that the thieves entered the residence by firing shots at the property.

“They came and sprayed the house with about 20 bullets,” one resident stated.
The following day, another assault took place amidst the funeral proceedings of a police reservist who had lost his life to alleged bandits.
The ensuing shootout left one mourner dead while others sustained injuries.
“From today I am starting a movement. For all who have lost their lives and the government has failed to save them, I will look for lawyers and take their cases to court,” Lesiyampe stated at the time.
Samburu West MP Naisula Lesuuda pledged to continue the advocacy efforts initiated by the MCA to promote peace in the area.
“Only last month you called for action, today they got you. Rest in Peace Mheshimiwa (honourable). We will not tire of calling for decisive action. How many more lives before it is enough? No one is safe,” she stated.
Leshimpiro’s driver survived the attack.
