University Student Suspected of Lover’s Murder Hospitalized with Stab Wound
After allegedly stabbing himself in an attempt to end his own life. A male student reportedly enrolled in the third year at the University of Eldoret. Is currently in critical condition at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital. He is fighting for his life.
At the residence of his girlfriend in Sogomo estate, which is located on the outskirts of Eldoret town, the body of the male student was discovered lying in a pool of blood next to the body of his girlfriend.
After an argument, the male student, who has been identified as Elkana Korir, allegedly stabbed his lover, who was a Second Year student at the same university, before turning the knife on himself.
According to the police, the incident occurred.

The police believe that Korir should still be considered a suspect.
“The suspect had visited the young lady in her rented house outside the university premises, where an argument ensued,” said Henry Zuma, the commander of the Soy Sub-county police force.
“The male student is continuing to receive treatment at the hospital,” said Zuma. “The hospital has no plans to discharge him.”
The mortuary at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital received the body of the deceased patient.
Zuma stated that the police are carrying out their investigations even though they are waiting for the suspect to regain his strength before they can question him.
