Underdogs Bungoma Stars Advance To FKF Cup Round Of 16, Police Arrest Posta
Bungoma Stars executed yet another underdog triumph, advancing to the FKF Cup round of 16 by defeating FC Talanta 1-0 on Saturday at the Police Sacco Stadium.
Meshack Makokha’s 38th-minute goal secured the victory for Bungoma Stars against FKF Premier League FC Talanta.
Elsewhere Kenya Police also gunned Posta Rangers to sail to the last 16, Kinanga Clinton scoring the all-important goal. Sofapaka meanwhile survived a scare beating Silibwet 5-3 on penalties after a 2-2 tie in normal time. Victor Kirui and Stanley Okwemba were on the mark for Silbwet while Baron Ocheing and Andre Klama scored for Soafapaka before they prevailed on the lotteries.
At the Kenyenya grounds, a heated match ensued, with goals pouring in from the 70th minute, ultimately resulting in SS Assad emerging victorious, 3-1 against Bomachoge Borabu.
SS Assad’s Hamisi Nyere opened the scoring in the 70th minute. Four minutes later, Dominic Orweya’s strike leveled the game for Bomachoge Borabu. In the 79th minute, Hamidi Abdalla extended SS Assad’s lead, and six minutes later, an own goal by Bomachoge Borabu’s Augustine Nyabuto sealed the 3-1 victory for SS Assad.
The action continues on Sunday with PAC University facing AFC Leopards at the Police Sacco Stadium in a highlight match from 3:15 pm.
