Uhuru’s Diplomatic Talks Spark Concern in Azimio Camp
Meetings of great significance between ex-President Uhuru Kenyatta and representatives from the United States (US) and the United Kingdom (UK) have stirred discomfort among the Azimio faction.
Under the guidance of Homa Bay Town’s Member of Parliament, Peter Kaluma, they alleged that Uhuru met with leaders who were purportedly supporters of President William Ruto.
This occurred after the ex-president’s meeting with Neil Wigan, the British High Commissioner to Kenya, on Friday.
Later during the day, Uhuru convened another significant meeting at his Nairobi office with the US Ambassador to Kenya, Meg Whitman.
“Why is (former) President Uhuru Kenyatta meeting individuals who rigged our 2022 presidential elections,” Kaluma wondered.
“Keep off US ambassador Meg Whitman and her associates from the West.”
Uhuru Kenyatta mentioned during a press statement that the two leaders had visited him as a gesture of courtesy.

The former President did not divulge details of the two meetings.
High Commissioner Wigan suggested that the focus of the meeting was on deliberating about the promotion of regional peace within the East African Community (EAC).
“A pleasure to meet Uhuru Kenyatta, EAC facilitator to discuss regional peace and security issues,” Wigan wrote.
The High Commissioner also mentioned that the UK would investigate methods to aid the EAC mission.
Although some Azimio politicians have accused Uhuru of aligning with Ruto’s government, the ex-President has affirmed his support for Azimio leader Raila Odinga.
“I am a member of Azimio that is what I tell people. I am not a conman,” Uhuru remarked on November 19.
