The MP criticized former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s ongoing involvement in politics, particularly his roles as the chair of Azimio and leader of the Jubilee party, citing potential violations of the law.
Koech’s comments followed statements from Uhuru’s office accusing the state of failing to uphold his constitutional rights under the Retirement Benefits Act.
Uhuru’s spokesperson, Kanze Dena, revealed that despite an allocation of over one billion shillings, the office only received 28 million shillings in the last financial year.
The office’s grievances stem from what they perceive as neglect from the state, resulting in financial burdens for the former president.
They cited specific instances, such as the discrepancy between the allocated budget and the actual funds received, highlighting the need for transparency and accountability in budgetary matters.
