Uasin Gishu Deputy Governor John Barorot Steps Down
Uasin Gishu County Governor Jonathan Bii has explained why his deputy John Barorot resigned from office.
Addressing a press conference on Monday, Bii said the resignation of the Deputy Governor followed a job opportunity he secured with an international organisation that he set to begin on September 1.
Bii described Barorot as a friend adding that they have had mutual meetings leading to his resignation
โTo be a CEO of an international firm is a blessing to Uasin Gishu,โ said Bii.
Barorot in his address said he resigned because he secured an international job in the ICT sector
He says he has had a good working relationship with the governor over the last two years and they discussed his exit for the last month.
โThe governor is my friend and we have worked very well and discussed my exit in the last month,โ said Barorot.
He said he had weighed between the job in the private sector and his role as DG and they agreed that he would take up the new responsibility
โThe job is time-bound and there was no time to waste and we decided that I go for it,โ said Barorot.

Barorot thanked county staff and MCAs for the good working relationship he had with them.
He has dismissed claims of a fallout between him and the governor.
The outgoing DG said he leaves with his head high and a happy man because the work at the county had also been a learning experience for him.
โI know itโs emotional but sometimes change is good and we have to accept it,โ said Barorot.
He said moving from the private sector to public service and back to private sector was a major experience for which he would write a book
Bii announced that there would be a send-off party for the DG on August 30th
โI thank my outgoing DG for the contribution he has made to this county for the last two years,โ said Bii.
