Businessman Jimi Wanjigi has reported that police have surrounded his residence in the upscale neighborhood of Muthaiga, Nairobi.
He expressed confusion and concern over the situation, stating that he is unsure of the reason behind the police presence or what they might be accusing him of.
Wanjigi shared that the officers have stationed themselves outside his home, demanding access to the premises.

He believes that their intentions are either to arrest or harm him. “They are outside the house and want to arrest or harm me,” Wanjigi stated, clearly distressed by the unfolding events.
The police, however, have provided their version of events, claiming that Wanjigi was spotted along Limuru Road in the company of several individuals allegedly distributing money.
According to the officers, Wanjigi managed to evade them after being pursued, eventually disappearing into Karura Forest. Despite these allegations, Wanjigi has firmly denied any wrongdoing.
In response to the police’s accusations, Wanjigi questioned the legality of his actions, particularly regarding his freedom to drive where and how he pleases.
“I’m a free man to drive the way I want. Is it wrong to do so?” he asked, challenging the narrative put forth by the authorities.

He further questioned the basis of the police’s claims, especially the assertion that he was distributing money.
“And even if it is true I was dishing out money as they claim, for what?” Wanjigi inquired, casting doubt on the validity of the accusations against him.
As the situation escalated, Wanjigi described the police’s actions as harassment, pointing out that additional officers continued to arrive at his residence as the day progressed.
By 4:10 PM, the number of police officers surrounding his home had increased, further intensifying the tension.
Amidst these developments, Wanjigi also commented on the ongoing protests in the country, stating that they are a result of genuine grievances and are organically driven by the people.
His remarks suggest that he sees a connection between the protests and the actions taken against him, though he did not explicitly draw this link.
The unfolding scenario has left many questioning the true motives behind the police’s interest in Wanjigi, as well as the broader implications for the current political climate in Kenya.
