Tragic Incident: One Fatality and Two Injured Amidst Saba Saba Protests in Kisumu
A tragic incident unfolded in Kisumu on Friday, resulting in the death of an individual due to a gunshot wound inflicted by the police.

According to Alex Ochieng, the administrator of JOOTRH, the fatal incident took place in the Obunga slums, where a middle-aged man was reportedly shot by the police.
Ochieng further revealed that out of the two individuals admitted with gunshot wounds, one was shot in the chest in the Kondele area, while the other sustained a leg injury in the Chulaimbo area of Kisumu West sub-county.
Fortunately, Ochieng provided reassurance that both patients are currently in stable condition and are scheduled to undergo surgical procedures at the hospital’s operating theater.
However, the administrator also noted that four additional individuals were admitted to the hospital, having suffered injuries from blunt objects during the protests.
The situation in Kisumu on Saba Saba Day was marked by heightened tensions and clashes between the protesters and the police.
