Tragic Fires in India: Newborns Lost in Delhi Hospital Blaze
According to authorities, a hospital fire in Delhi has resulted in the tragic death of at least six newborns. The incident occurred late Saturday in Vivek Vihar, Delhi, where a fire broke out in the hospital’s vicinity.
Senior police officer Surendra Choudhary reported that there were a total of 12 infants in the unit, with one already deceased before the fire outbreak.
The hospital owner, who absconded, will face legal repercussions, as confirmed by authorities.

Delhi’s Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal expressed deep sorrow over the incident, promising a thorough investigation to hold accountable those responsible for the negligence.
Atul Garg, director of Delhi’s fire department, disclosed that 14 fire trucks were dispatched to combat the flames, which spread rapidly due to an oxygen cylinder explosion.
Rescue operations faced challenges due to the building’s limited access, featuring only one staircase and lacking fire escape mechanisms.

In a separate incident earlier on the same day, a massive fire engulfed a games arcade in Rajkot, Gujarat, claiming the lives of at least 27 individuals, many of whom were children.
Families await DNA test results for identification purposes as authorities continue recovery efforts amidst the rubble.
The arcade fire, attributed to a short circuit, swiftly consumed the two-story structure, leaving behind wreckage and debris when observed by BBC reporters.
