Top Reasons Behind DP Gachagua’s Impeachment Push Revealed
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua faces renewed impeachment threats, with attempts to halt the process proving unsuccessful.
Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah has confirmed that the impeachment motion will be tabled on Tuesday at 2:30 pm.
The motion requires support from 233 MPs to proceed, and reports indicate that by Sunday, 302 members had signed in favor.
If approved, Speaker Moses Wetangula will inform Senate Speaker Amason Kingi within two days, and the Senate will deliberate within seven days. A majority of 45 out of 67 senators is needed to remove Gachagua from office.
“I, as the MP for Kikuyu, have signed to remove Gachagua. We must prevent government sabotage from within,” said Ichung’wah.
Gossipa2z.com has obtained the impeachment grounds, including accusations of violating Article 10 on National Values and Principles, citing public utterances allegedly inciting ethnic divisions.

Gachagua is also accused of violating articles related to his role as the President’s principal assistant, specifically Articles 147, 148, 174, 186, and 189.
Further allegations include unlawfully acquiring assets in Nyeri, Nairobi, and Kilifi counties using public funds.
The motion, with the mover’s identity withheld for security, lists breaches of both national and international laws, including the National Cohesion and Integration Act, Anti-Corruption and Economic Crimes Act, Proceeds of Crime and Anti-Money Laundering Act, Penal Code, and Leadership and Integrity Act.
According to documents obtained by Gossipa2z.com, Gachagua is accused of making unwarranted attacks on Lady Justice Esther Maina and the Director General of the National Intelligence Service, violating his oath of office.
Additionally, Gachagua faces accusations of undermining the President by publicly contradicting policy statements and Cabinet decisions.
With President Ruto returning from New York just a day before the impeachment, Gachagua’s political future remains uncertain.
