The Tea Master: Edgar Obare’s Dramatic Rise and Fall
Obare’s career plummeted after he pursued the former governor of Mozambique.
A few years ago, Edgar Obare’s fortunate star shone brightly.
Due to his exposed pieces, the man from Kisii appears to have the world at his feet.
He earned the moniker ‘Tea Master’ due to the intensity with which he served rumors.
However, as we all know, Kenyans are a gluttonous lot.
The demand for gossip increased over time, and Edgar was unable to keep up. Then, he decided he would expose the relationships of celebrities and who they were cheating with.
Obare touched a raw nerve when he exposed Natalie Githinji, also known as Natalie Tewa.
The blogger claimed that the damsel had a romantic relationship with the then-governor of Mozambique, Hassan Joho.
This resulted in Natalie suing Obare because he exposed her personal information online, jeopardizing her safety.
In July 2020, Obare was arrested in Kisumu and transported to the DCI headquarters in Nairobi for questioning.
He had published Githinji’s passport information along with a visa claiming she had traveled to Dubai. At the time, there was a suspension of international flights.
Obare compared Githinji’s trip to Dubai with those of two legislators, Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho and Suna East MP Junet Mohamed, who had also visited ODM leader Raila Odinga in Dubai. Raila had traveled to Dubai to receive back surgery.
The court ruled that the accused could not publish any information regarding the case. He exposed Jalang’o and his boy’s club in 2021.

Obare asserted that the former radio host and his friends would rent rooms and compete to sleep with the most women.
The exposé identified Jalang’o as the man who has slept with the most women.
Allegedly, the boys club has rented several apartments in Nairobi where they take their “Mpango wa Kandos” to party, drink alcohol, and dance the night away.
As a result of this exposure, Jalang’o lost business as companies decided to withdraw. He also lost his position as a radio host for Milele FM.
Two and a half years ago, Obare nearly ended DJ Mo’s marriage to Size 8. This occurred after he exposed the ‘Mateke’ hitmaker’s infidelity.
Mo lost his job at NTV, where he was an in-house DJ and co-host of a show with Grace Ekirapa.
Allegedly, he had cheated on his wife with a woman named Margaret Wanyama.
After he cheated on his wife Milly Chebby with environmentalist Anita Soin, Edgar also exposed Terrence Creative.
Soina admitted that she dated Terence for a few months before the news spread.
In 2012, a Kiambu court issued an arrest warrant for Obare for twice evading court hearings.
Obare found himself on the opposing side of businessman KRG the Don in 2022.

Shortly thereafter, Obare deleted his Instagram account.
Krg boasted on social media about how he exacted vengeance on Obare by deleting his Instagram account.
In response to the news of the closure of Edgar’s page, KRG posted a photo of the Tea Master along with the following comment:
“IG ni kwangu wewe kaa uko Telegram hadi end of time 😂😂😂😂😂 #Vibare kibao sana…. Ni #Bughaaa Alooooh!”
That was not the first time Obare had lost his social media page.
In September 2021 Obare who currently lives abroad alleged his brother had been kidnapped.
Photos of him with his hands tied to the back emerged leaving many with questions on whether the abduction was true or it was a cry for attention.
Edgar claimed through his BNN Instagram page that the kidnappers tortured his brother and questioned him about the blogger’s whereabouts.
“I would like to ask you to pray for my family. Saturday night I was informed that they kidnapped my brother,” he said.
Obare’s attempt to expose TV Personality Hasaan Mugambi failed last week, demonstrating that he is losing relevance.
Obare’s’source’ claimed in the exposé that she was a friend of Hassan’s baby mama and had a sexual relationship with the television personality.
People criticized him for attempting to make a name for himself by bringing down the reputations of others.
Many wondered how a person’s personal life could have affected him to the extent that he felt it was newsworthy.
