The 5 KCPE Candidates Who Drowned in Uasin Gishu Were Index 1 to 5

The five Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) candidates who passed away on Saturday, October 28, were the most intelligent pupils at Arap Moi Primary School in Uasin Gishu County. Their KCPE rankings ranged from 1 to 5.

On Saturday, the educational institution hosted a requiem mass in remembrance of the students. The gathering was filled with emotion as parents conveyed their grief over the untimely demise of their loved ones in one of the most tragic ways possible.

Laban Kipkoech, the bereaved parent of a student who perished in the catastrophe, wept as he described his son’s astuteness and the aspirations that filled him.

โ€œMy son had lofty dreams and had promised me that he would be a doctor. Every time, I think of his death I break down into tears,โ€ Mr. Kipkoech stated.

Kipkoech questioned journalists as to how the highest-achieving pupils perished simultaneously.

An additional parent, Susan Chepkurui, lamented the loss of a cherished child.

โ€œI dreamt of a bright future for my son. I am lost for words and have a heavy heart because I have lost a heartbreaking child,โ€ a tearful Chepkurui stated during the mass.

A representative for Ainakboi, Samuel Chepkonga, who was present at the mass, offered his condolences to the bereaved families, stating that the school’s 85 pupils had suffered a tremendous loss with their deaths.

โ€œTheir death is a huge loss for us,โ€ he stated.

Five students perished by submerging while on a school excursion on Saturday, October 28.

The unfortunate incident took place around 5:00 p.m., during the excursion of the cohort of students to Amazement Park in Eldoret.

They took turns boating in a man-made lake during their stay; however, one of the vessels capsized.ย
