Teen Aiden Fucci sentenced to life for the brutal murder of 13-year-old cheerleader
At age 14, the Florida teen who stabbed a 13-year-old cheerleader has been sentenced to life in prison.
Tristyn Bailey was fatally stabbed by Aiden Fucci 114 times in 2021. Friday, March 24, he was sentenced to life in prison, according to authorities.
Aiden Fucci, now 16 years old, was sentenced by Judge R. Lee Smith, according to State Attorney’s Office 7th Judicial Circuit spokesperson Haley Harrison.
Harrison stated that Fucci’s sentence will be reviewed in 25 years.
In February, Fucci pled guilty to first-degree murder. When he was arrested for the murder on May 9, 2021, he was 14 years old.
Bailey’s body was discovered in the woods outside Jacksonville. According to a probable cause affidavit, Fucci told investigators that he got into an argument with Bailey on May 9 and shoved her to the ground after they left the home of a mutual friend before dawn.
Fucci took a photo of himself in the back of a police vehicle flashing a peace sign and posted it to social media with the caption, “Hey guys, has anyone seen Tristyn recently?”
On May 10, he was arrested and initially charged with second-degree murder.
A grand jury indicted Fucci for first-degree murder days later, and he was to be tried as an adult.
The number of stab wounds, according to State’s Attorney R.J. Larizza, supported the charge and proved the attack was premeditated.

Forest, the father of Tristyn, spoke on behalf of his family following the verdict on March 24.
He sent a message to his deceased daughter.
“I wanted to let you know, Tristyn, that we are so incredibly proud of the person you were during your time here,” he said. “We have observed that when you entered the world you gave it your all. You should be proud of the friend and teammate you were, as well as the legacy you left behind and the people who knew you and whom we believe will continue to make the world a better place.”
As he continued speaking, his voice cracked.
Regarding your significance to our family, it is in our hearts. There are no adequate words. We love you. You will remain in our hearts, and we will always be the Bailey Seven.”
He expressed gratitude for the judge’s sentence.
Given the heinousness of the crime and Aiden’s behavior surrounding it, we believe that this verdict is appropriate.
Additionally, he stated that Fucci’s family should not be mistreated because they, too, are in pain.
Please show them courtesy. They should be granted compassion for the suffering they are experiencing. They should not be subjected to further hardship.”

On Wednesday, March 22, during a sentencing hearing, members of Bailey’s family provided emotional testimony.
Alexis Bailey, Tristyn’s sister, placed 114 teal stones in a glass jar to symbolize the number of times Fucci had stabbed Tristyn.
During the hearing, she stated, “Aiden Fucci didn’t just take Tristyn’s life that day; he took everything from us.”
Since the murder, Alexis and another sister, Brittney Bailey Russell, have reported suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. Russell was on her honeymoon when she received the news that her sister had gone missing.
“Agony is not excruciating enough. I do not feel as if my core has been shattered. Russell stated, “Anger doesn’t even come close to describing the level of rage I’m experiencing.” “Let me tell you, justice is merely a synonym for solace. It does not restore her.”
