Student Injured as Plane Crashes in Nairobi National Park

An aviation student was injured on Thursday when a plane from West Rift Aviation School crashed within Nairobi National Park.

Rescue teams quickly responded to the scene, assisting in freeing individuals trapped in the wreckage.

A Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) official told Gossipa2z.com that two people were on board, with one sustaining injuries.

The injured student was immediately taken to the nearest hospital for medical care, according to the KCAA representative.

At the time of publication, the cause of the crash had not been determined, though investigations were underway.

Images circulating on social media showed the small plane overturned in the tall grass at Nairobi National Park.

This crash echoes a similar incident earlier in March when a student pilot and instructor lost their lives after their plane collided with a passenger aircraft carrying 44 individuals.

That collision occurred in Nairobi’s airspace, with one of the planes crash-landing in Nairobi National Park.

KCAA confirmed that the passenger plane, headed for Diani in Mombasa, had just taken off when a loud bang was heard.

During its journey to the coastal destination, the passenger aircraft collided with a smaller plane carrying two people.

The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority released a statement confirming the 10:05 am crash involving a Ninety-Nines Flying School Cessna and a Safarilink Aviation Dash 8 aircraft.

Multiple agencies, including the Air Accident Investigation Department (AAID) and the National Police Service, have launched investigations into the cause of the collision.
