Simba Arati’s Swift Selection: New Deputy Governor Named Post-Monda Ouster
Kisii Governor Simba Arati has designated Elijah Obebo to assume the role of Deputy Governor in the wake of Robert Monda’s ousting from the position.
The announcement was relayed by Kisii County Assembly Speaker Philip Nyanumba, who revealed Arati’s selection of Obebo pending confirmation by the Assembly. Obebo was previously serving as the chair of the public service board within the County.
This decision follows swiftly after Monda’s impeachment by the Senate on grounds of serious misconduct and involvement in corrupt practices.
The Kisii County Assembly had previously endorsed Monda’s removal from office, prompting the Senate’s action. The Senate’s investigation found Monda culpable of all the accusations leveled against him.
