Showdown in Karen: Police Intervene as CS and MP Clash Over Ksh120 Million Mansion
Friday, June 17, police officers intervened in a high-profile dispute between a first-time member of Parliament and a Cabinet Secretary.
An unnamed member of parliament claimed that the cabinet secretary in President William Ruto’s administration had forcibly moved into her Ksh120 million mansion in Karen, Nairobi County.
The MP’s wife told the media that she was surprised to find a large security presence at her home in Karen. After sending a contractor to facilitate the cleaning of the mansion, she took this action.
The contractor was allegedly pushed and locked out of the building, which she claimed was already occupied by an unnamed Cabinet Secretary.
She alleged that the CS took advantage of their absence to illegally move into the house.

“There is no signed agreement whatsoever. There has not been any transaction. This home still belongs to my husband and me.
“I’m as surprised as you are that it’s currently occupied!” The politician’s wife stated.
The CS reportedly approached the first-term MP with a purchase offer of Ksh90 million, but the homeowner rejected the offer, stating that the mansion was worth Ksh120 million.
“The CS expressed interest in the residence. She even visited my residence and presented us with an offer of Ksh90 million. We informed her that the cost of the home is Ksh120 million.
“I then traveled to the United States for my daughter’s graduation. When I returned on Wednesday, June 14, I instructed my staff to clean my home. “I was stunned to find that the house was already occupied,” she explained.
Following the standoff, the MP filed a police report and considered filing a trespass and damages lawsuit against the CS. The aggrieved landlord informed reporters that the CS was out of the country during the disturbance.
At the time of publication, the unidentified CS had not stated the allegations made against her.
