Shocker! Ruto Sells Bomas of Kenya, Prison Lands to Turkish Tycoon – Gachagua Exposes Secret Deal
Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has made shocking claims that the Bomas of Kenya, a national cultural site, has been sold to a Turkish citizen.
While speaking at the ACK Holy Trinity Church in Kitengela, Kajiado County, Gachagua alleged that the Cabinet had already approved the sale, even though the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) had objected to it.
Gachagua, who has positioned himself as an opposition leader, went further to claim that land belonging to prisons had also been sold. “As of now, Bomas of Kenya has been sold to a Turkish national. The Cabinet was informed about this, and I was the only one who opposed it. I stood my ground and said we cannot sell a national heritage,” he said. He added that the KCAA had warned against the sale since the location of Bomas falls within an important flight path.
However, despite these concerns, Gachagua claimed the government still went ahead with the deal. “Civil aviation officials were against it, but the President still approved the sale. We are on our own,” he lamented.
He further alleged that prison lands across the country had been sold, which would force the relocation of prisons. “All prison land is gone. Every prison has to be moved. Even churches built on these lands, including Catholic and SDA churches, will be demolished,” he claimed.
The Bomas of Kenya was established in 1971 to protect and showcase Kenya’s diverse cultures. Over the years, it has remained an important cultural and tourist site. Gachagua’s statements have raised concerns about the possible loss of such a key national landmark.

His remarks came just days after President William Ruto and ODM leader Raila Odinga announced a political agreement. The two leaders signed a deal that includes a 10-point agenda to promote cooperation between Ruto’s UDA party and Odinga’s ODM party.
One of the key points in this agreement is the implementation of the National Dialogue Committee (NADCO) report. The report proposes the introduction of the Office of the Official Opposition Leader and the re-establishment of the Prime Minister’s position.
Gachagua dismissed this political handshake between Ruto and Odinga, calling it a distraction. “Do not worry about what is happening. It is just a diversion. These are political games meant to take away our attention. But we will stay focused. Politics is all about numbers, and I can assure you, our numbers are strong,” he said.
Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka agreed with Gachagua, saying that Raila Odinga had betrayed his allies. Speaking at the Christian Foundation Fellowship Church in Nairobi, Musyoka expressed his disappointment, stating, “There is betrayal everywhere. Even a brother can betray a brother. But the worst betrayal is in politics. Politicians are unpredictable. Pray for them. I am one of them.”
DAP-K leader Eugene Wamalwa, speaking in Nakuru County, also questioned why the NADCO report was being revived. “We all know that the proposed Prime Minister’s position is meant for Raila Odinga. That is the real reason why the NADCO report is being brought back. This report was already rejected by a parliamentary committee. Why the sudden interest now?” Wamalwa asked.
On the other hand, Acting ODM party leader Prof. Anyang’ Nyong’o dismissed the criticism from opposition leaders, advising them to read the agreement before making conclusions. “Kalonzo should first read the contents of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) before criticizing it,” Nyong’o stated.
As political dynamics continue to shift, Gachagua’s allegations have sparked heated debate about the sale of national heritage sites and the political agreement between Ruto and Odinga.
