Shakeup Looms: Mudavadi Hints at Govt Changes

On Thursday, July 27, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi hinted at a government reorganization that would assist the Kenya Kwanza administration in delivering on its key campaign promises.

Mudavadi, who is responsible for performance management in the government, has indicated that the evaluations of government personnel will be conducted objectively.

Mudavadi explained during a Ministry of Environment-sponsored event in Nairobi that they would consider several factors, including strategic plans and service delivery standards.

He added that it was no longer business as usual because Ruto’s agenda emphasized achieving goals.

During the review, annual work plans, performance contracts, and staff performance evaluations will also be considered.

“We will judge your relevance based on your commitments because the government has made promises to Kenyans under the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BeTA) that must be kept,” he said.

If you are unwilling to improve the lives of Kenyans, you will not be retained against your will.

Mudavadi stated that all public officials will be required to conduct self-evaluations by the government agenda and strategic plans for their respective ministries and state agencies.

“In the following days, the President and I will sign our performance contracts. “We must ensure that when the President returns to the electorate in 2027, he is not disappointed,” he stated.

Mudavadi’s warning comes at a time when the majority of Kenyans believe the country is headed in the incorrect direction and the administration has failed to fulfill several of its most important pledges.

56% of Kenyans, according to a Tifa survey, believe the country is headed in the incorrect direction.

Kenyans surveyed cited Corruption, Ruto’s leadership, and the high cost of living as reasons for the country’s perceived decline.
