A businessman from Narok County was abducted by a group of seven individuals who masqueraded as law enforcement officers.

Based on information from a police report acquired by Gossipa2z.com, the individual had gone to his friend’s residence in Narok, located close to the Bureti Deputy County Commissioner’s home, and was preparing to depart for his own house.

At approximately 12:57 pm, as he exited his friend’s property in his Toyota Fielder, he encountered a blockade formed by two vehiclesโ€”a Toyota RAV4 and a Toyota Oxio. Seven individuals disembarked from these vehicles, identifying themselves as law enforcement officers.

With three handguns at their disposal, the group restrained the businessman with handcuffs, confiscated his two cell phones, and instructed him to get into the Toyota RAV4 vehicle.

Two individuals entered the victim’s car, and they all proceeded towards Bomet via the Kaprong route in their respective vehicles.

The RAV4 stopped at a nearby gas station, while the other two vehicles proceeded on their journey. The individuals handed back one of the victim’s seized phones and directed him to pay for the fuel expenses

In this interaction, the entrepreneur quickly turned off his car’s engine through the mobile app for vehicle tracking. Unaware of the perpetrators, the victim returned the phone to them, and they continued their trip towards the Kiptagich region in Mau Forest, where they eventually stopped.

The businessman was instructed to move all his funds from his bank account to his mobile wallet for more convenient access. He had a sum of Ksh131,000, which he subsequently transferred to his mobile money account.

Additionally, they instructed him to contact his friends and family, which he complied with, resulting in him receiving Ksh25,000. Following this, the perpetrators directed him to accompany them to a mobile money outlet, where he was coerced into withdrawing all the available funds.

After acquiring the money, the suspects quickly drove off, abandoning him in a remote location. It’s been said that the businessman then hopped onto a motorcycle and made his way to a police station to report the occurrence.

Initial inquiries indicated that two individuals, operating the businessman’s Toyota Fielder, fled from the location once the vehicle came to a halt on the main road due to a malfunctioning system.

At the moment, six of the seven suspects have been arrested and are placed in custody. According to the police report, this involves a police officer attached to an incumbent Nominated Senator.

Police officers are pursuing the seventh suspect involved in the incident.
