Senator Sifuna asserts that DCI has summoned him for unspecified reasons.

Edwin Sifuna, a senator from Nairobi, claims he has been summoned to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters on Kiambu road.

Senator Sifuna claimed on Spice FM Wednesday morning that he has been summoned alongside former Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya, but he does not know the reason for the summons.

“I have been summoned to the DCI, but they have not provided me with any written sermons. I learned of the summons from Danstan Omari, the coalition lawyer, who informed me that they want me and Oparanya to appear. We have no idea for what, “He asserted.

The lawmaker went on to criticize the DCI for issuing the summons, claiming that he is merely a pawn within the coalition Azimio la Umoja and that Raila Odinga should be the subject of interest.

He argued that it is difficult for security authorities to apprehend Raila, which is why they are “harassing” other Azimio allies.

“The leadership of Kenya Kwanza is in agreement that Baba must be arrested, as are the police and their minions, but they are at a loss as to who will carry out this arrest,” he said.

“I am a minor participant in this particular cause. The president stated that if you have a problem with Raila, you should address it with him and stop harassing us. You are aware of his address.”

Sifuna reiterated that he will honor the summons, but questioned why no one has been questioned regarding the Kenyatta land invasion witnessed during Monday’s anti-government demonstrations.

“I am a law-abiding citizen, and I will comply with their summons because I have nothing to hide,” he said.

“The most ridiculous aspect of this situation is that I’ve been summoned to appear before individuals whose criminal statements led to the invasion of people’s farms.”
