Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua recently held discussions with prominent political figures, including Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, People’s Liberation Party leader Martha Karua, and Safina Party leader Jimi Wanjigi. The meeting, which took place on the morning of Tuesday, March 4, also saw the participation of several other influential leaders, such as DAP-Kenya leader Eugene Wamalwa, Kisii Senator Richard Onyonka, and politician Morara Kebaso.
Senator Richard Onyonka, who was present at the meeting, explained that the discussions were part of an ongoing series of consultations aimed at forming a strong political alliance. This coalition seeks to challenge President William Ruto in the upcoming 2027 general elections. He emphasized that they were actively engaging with Kenyans from all walks of life to gather insights and ideas on how best to move the country forward. Through these consultations, they hope to address key concerns affecting citizens and chart a new political direction.
Martha Karua, a key figure in the discussions, echoed Onyonka’s sentiments. Morara Kebaso, another participant in the meeting, took the opportunity to advocate for the interests of the youth in Kenya. He described the gathering as a “working breakfast” where leaders analyzed Kenya’s past, examined the current state of affairs, and explored strategies for shaping the future. Morara stressed that he remains committed to pushing for policies that benefit young people, including access to quality education, employment opportunities, and an environment free from corruption. He expressed his determination to fight for justice and fairness, ensuring that young Kenyans have the resources they need to succeed and build a better future.
This meeting follows a significant event in which the same leaders attended the launch of Martha Karua’s political party.
