School Owner Flees Country After Collecting Exam Fees from Students, Cuts Communication

An unidentified school owner in Ibadan fled the country after collecting WAEC and NECO exam fees from his students.

Who exposed the Ibadan school owner?

Adejoke Lasisi, founder of Planet 3R, brought the situation to light on Facebook, mentioning that some parents had borrowed money to pay the fees, only to find out that the students were not registered for the exams.

Adejoke further explained that the school owner sold his house and all his belongings to finance his move abroad, leaving the students’ futures in jeopardy.

Her Facebook post read in part:

“Some people have no fear of God at all oooooo. Imagine taking WAEC/NECO money from all your students and using it to escape. This incident happened in my area recently. There’s a man who owns a school in Amuro, Egbeda LG Ibadan.

The owner collected money for WAEC and NECO, with some parents even borrowing it, only to find out he didn’t register the students for the exams. I heard he sold his house, school, and all properties to fund his move abroad. He just ruined those students’ lives for his selfish gain. Some might not be able to pay for another exam next year,” Adejoke said.

When asked for the name of the school and the school owner, Adejoke promised to provide them, confirming it happened in a school near where she lives.

She said:

“Yes, it’s in my area here in Ibadan, not far from my workplace. It’s within walking distance. They even reported the matter to Agidigbo.”

Netizens condemn the school owner

Rasheed Olawale Kareem commented:

“I don’t understand how we think here. So, he thinks he has succeeded in life? He will regret this, I pity the kids because he has burdened them with his troubles.”

Fatimah Oluwatoyin Olokodana said:

“This happened to me in 2017. Someone used my money to flee, thinking he would succeed over there. I don’t need to curse him.”

Adewale Lasisi added:

“The experience was so painful that I had to wait for another exam form to be available. I had studied thoroughly. I cried. People can be so selfish and greedy. Hopefully, that experience won’t change the course of their lives. And it’s not like money is easy to come by in these difficult times.”

Ayidu Faith said:

“This is the height of wickedness.”

Femi Ige said:

“A similar thing happened to me 23 years ago.”

Adewole Adigun said:

“He will surely face the consequences sooner or later. God’s judgment is waiting for him and his children.”

Man emotional after seeing his rural home

In another story, a man living abroad with his family was moved when he saw the house his younger brother built for him.

The grand home was equipped with modern amenities, including a bathtub, toilet bowls, and cabinets.

The well-structured compound also had a swimming pool, which delighted his two children.

He hugged his brother for a long time to show his appreciation for the excellent work done since 2012 when he began sending money for the project.
