    Sakaja Shakes Up Cabinet

On Thursday, July 13, Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja made some changes to his County Executive Committee, also known as the CEC.

Sakaja announced the modifications in a statement that was released by the Office of the Governor. He added that the changes will take effect immediately.

In his statement, Sakaja explained that the reorganization was being carried out in compliance with the provisions of Article 31 (a) (d) of the County Government Act of 2012.

Formerly the CEC for Green Nairobi, Maureen Njeri has been transferred to the position of CEC for Business and Hustler Opportunities.

After working in the Inclusivity, Public Participation, and Customer Service dockets for some time, the Governor decided to transfer Suzanne Silantoi to the Health, Wellness, and Nutrition docket.

Rosemary Kariuki, who had been holding the job prior to the assignment of Maureen Njeri to the Business and Hustler Opportunities department, was transferred to the Talent, Skills, and Care department.

Patrick Mbogo, a member of the CEC, was transferred from the Mobility and Works department to the Boroughs, Administration, and Personnel department.

Mbogo succeeded Ibrahim Auma Nyangoya, who had been appointed to fill the vacancy left by Maureen Njeri.

Dr. Anastasia Nyalita has been transferred from the Health docket to the Inclusivity, Public Participation, and Customer Service department.

Rosemary Kariuki was appointed to replace Brian Mulama, and then Mulama was transferred to the Department of Mobility and Works.

The reorganization did not have an impact on the positions held by Charles Kerich, Stephen Gathuita Mwangi, or Michael Magero Gumo.

Mwangi was in charge of the Built Environment and Urban Planning Docket, while Kerich was the Chief Executive Commissioner for Finance and Economic Affairs.

Innovation and the digital economy will continue to fall under Gumo’s watchful eye in the capital.
