Safaricom Stops M-Pesa Transfers To Unregistered Users
Safaricom, the prominent telecommunications company, has announced a significant change to its M-Pesa service, stating that customers will no longer have the capability to send money to unregistered users.
This alteration, outlined in a statement released on a Saturday, is set to take effect from the upcoming Monday, February 5, 2024.

The telecommunications giant emphasized the importance of adherence to the new directive, cautioning users about the imminent implementation.
According to the statement, registered mobile money customers will maintain their ability to conduct financial transactions seamlessly with other mobile money platforms such as Airtel and T-Kash.

The company conveyed a clear message, specifying the cutoff date of February 5th, 2024, for the discontinuation of sending money from M-Pesa to unregistered mobile money customers.
