Saba Saba Rally All Set: Leaders Demand Police Protection for Nairobi March
The leaders of the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya coalition have stated that everything is ready for the Saba Saba rallies that are going to take place on Friday all over the country.
The leaders of the Azimio party addressed the media at Kamukunji Grounds in Nairobi, which is the location of the main rally that will be led by Raila Odinga, the leader of the opposition, and they urged their supporters to show up in large numbers as early as 4.30 in the morning.
You are all aware that Saba Saba is a significant day in history. Therefore, tomorrow, we will begin rewriting history from this location under the direction of our leader, Raila Odinga. We encourage Kenyans of all ages and walks of life to start arriving at this location as early as 4.30 in the morning… “We are going to be very peaceful, and we are going to hold a very peaceful meeting,” declared George Aladwa, the chairperson of the ODM Party in Nairobi.

Aladwa continued by saying, “We want to tell the government, and especially the police, to give us peace, and in return, we will give you peace.”
“We welcome residents of Nairobi to these historic Kamukunji grounds, where the second liberation of Saba Saba took place… Tomorrow, this location will play host to the official opening ceremony of the 2023 Saba Saba. We want a new Kenya. Antony Oluoch, a member of the Mathare Legislative Assembly, stated that “Tomorrow we are here to start the fourth liberation.”
The leaders of the opposition and its allies have stated that once they converge at Kamukunji grounds, they will proceed on a peaceful march to the central business district of Nairobi. They have pleaded with the security apparatus to not disrupt them but rather to provide security for them.
The rallies are currently spread out across several neighborhoods in Nairobi, and it is anticipated that the same pattern will emerge in other regions of the country.
