On Friday, August 18, President William Ruto implemented further alterations to important government organizations and removed individuals appointed by his predecessor, Uhuru Kenyatta.

One of the government workers who were directed to leave their workplace was Ambassador Zachary Maburi Mwita. He was currently in the position of overseeing the Board of Management at Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC).

Mwita was substituted by Joseah Kiplangat Cheruiyot, who was designated to fulfill a three-year tenure.

Additional members of the KMTC board, namely Naomi Kathure Mutua, Stephen Ochiel, Jennifer Kibagendi, and Fredrick Wamwaki, were removed from their positions and substituted with Paul Cheboi, Eunice Karanja, Hardline Lusui, and Joseph Atonga.

Similarly, Ruto brought about modifications at the Kenya National Public Health Institute. In this instance, David Nyokabi was appointed to take over from Gerald Macharia as the non-executive chairperson for a duration of three years.

On the other hand, Kadhua Kahindi took over the position of Public Procurement Regulatory Board Chairperson from Andrew Musangi, who is the son-in-law of Chris Kirubi.

Nevertheless, in contrast to other associates of Uhuru Kenyatta, Musangi’s removal was prompted by his recent selection as the chairperson of the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK), unlike his counterparts.

If Musangi’s appointment by Ruto gets the green light from Parliament, he will be a member of the CBK board for a duration of four years.

Mwai Kihu, Grace Tole, Njoroge Nganga, and Peter Kanyua were replaced by Benson Rono Benhard, Samuel Mkonu, Joyce Mutegi, and Rebecca Osogo.

At the Public Procurement Regulatory Board, the Treasury CS also annulled the selection of Paul Otieno, Godfrey Kyalo Makau, Lydia Gachoya, and Allyce Esintele. They were substituted with Patrick Ndirangu, Lucy Chepkemoi, Amos Makokha, and Ali Haji.
