Ruto Promises Delivery of Passports Within 1 Week, Paid Flights for Kenyans Seeking Employment Abroad
Kenyan youth seeking overseas jobs will have their passport applications expedited and their flights funded by the government and employment agencies.
President William Ruto has pledged this initiative.
During a roadside rally in Taita Taveta on Sunday, July 28, Ruto announced that the government has identified over 400,000 job opportunities abroad.
These opportunities are listed in the State Department of Labour’s online directory.
Ruto has instructed Members of Parliament to identify eligible youth and assist them with the application process.
The government will ensure that applicants’ passports are processed within a week, and their flight costs will be fully covered as a priority.
“I want MPs to take note. I’ve secured these jobs abroad. Anyone seeking employment overseas will get their passport within a week, and their flights will be sponsored by the hiring company,” Ruto stated.
