Fire Breaks Out in Nairobi National Park Near Mlolongo

A huge fire has broken out in sections of Nairobi National Park. The blaze was spotted near the Mlolongo area, with thick black smoke rising into the sky.

Fire Erupts Days After JKIA Blaze

This fire comes just days after another major inferno at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) last Friday night. Videos and images shared online show bright red and yellow flames spreading rapidly across the parkland.

Fireโ€™s Cause and Spread Still Unclear

It remains unclear how much of the park has been affected or how far the fire has spread. Some reports suggest the blaze began as a small bushfire but quickly grew due to dry conditions.

Fire Near Standard Gauge Railway Line

Videos circulating online show the fire starting near the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) line. The flames appear to be moving fast, fueled by dry grass and strong winds.

Authorities Yet to Release a Statement

Officials have not yet commented on the fire. However, a group called ‘Friends of the Nairobi National Park’ claims firefighters from the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) are at the scene, trying to contain the blaze.

Kenya Forest Service Warned of Bushfire Risks

The Kenya Forest Service (KFS) recently warned that the dry conditions have made forests and grasslands highly vulnerable to fires. In a statement on Thursday, KFS banned the burning of garbage near grasslands and forests without official permission.

    Ongoing Fire Updates

Authorities are expected to provide updates soon. Residents and visitors are advised to stay alert and avoid affected areas.

Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
