Ruto Nominates Beatrice Moe as EAC CS
President William Ruto has put forward Beatrice Askul Moe for the role of Cabinet Secretary for the East African Community.
The announcement was made through a statement issued by Felix Koskei, the Head of Public Service.
The statement reveals that Moe is a social scientist who formerly held the position of County Executive Committee Member responsible for Water, Irrigation, Agriculture, and Land Reclamation in the Turkana County Government.
Notably, Moe was on the panel responsible for selecting the running mate for Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga during the 2022 elections.
“Her previous roles include serving as Director of the Rift Valley Water Services Board, Chairperson of the Technical Committee and the Audit Committee of the Rift Valley Water Services Board, Project Officer for AMREF Kenya Turkana Project, and Relief Officer for the Oxfam Turkana Relief Program.
“The nominee possesses specialized skills in the development and management of community affairs, focusing on behavioral and social change,” the statement said in part.

Regarding her educational background, Moe holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Sciences (Social Work) from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA).
She is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Governance and Ethics.
Additionally, Moe has completed several certifications, including the County Induction Course at the Kenya School of Government (Turkana County Government) and a Corporate Governance Course (CGC) while serving on the Rift Valley Water Services Board.
Her training includes an Audit Committees course by KCA University (Institute for Capacity Development), a Training of Trainers (TOT) course in community-based development by AMREF Kenya, and training in methodologies for conducting baseline assessment surveys for food security and nutrition improvement in Turkana.
If approved by Parliament, Moe will succeed Peninah Malonza, who was removed from the previous Cabinet.
Simultaneously, President Ruto has nominated Dorcas Agik Oduor for the position of Attorney General. Oduor is currently serving as the Secretary of Public Prosecutions in the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
