Ruto Meets Netanyahu to Eliminate Kenya-Israel Trade Barriers.
Kenya and Israel will collaborate to remove trade barriers between them.
President William Ruto and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu both stated that the two countries have enormous potential.
“We must exploit these opportunities. Numerous exports merit access to the Israeli market,” said President Ruto.
He stated that the lack of direct flights between Kenya and Israel is a “serious impediment” to trade and tourism.
Tuesday, when he met the Israeli prime minister in his office in Jerusalem, the president made these remarks.
He observed that Kenya and Israel have distinctive global attractions that can sustain robust tourism growth.
“Without free movement, tourism is severely restricted,” he noted.
The head of state stated that the review of the Bilateral Air Services Agreement presents an opportunity for Kenya Airways and El-Al, the Israeli flag carrier, to improve their operations.

The President added that it was time for Kenya and Israel to increase their cooperation due to their subpar trade volumes.
Currently, Kenyan exports to Israel are worth Ksh. 1.1 billion while imports from Israel are worth Ksh.
“We are underperforming, but we have the potential to do much more,” he added.
According to the president, the imbalance does not result from a natural equilibrium in Kenya’s export performance, but rather from an imposition on export producers.
Netanyahu pledged to continue cooperating with Kenya in the fight against terrorism, radicalization, and violent extremism.
“Our priority is to maintain stability and peace as we pursue our socioeconomic friendship,” he stated.
Earlier, President Ruto met with his Israeli counterpart Isaac Herzog at his residence in Jerusalem, where they agreed to expand cooperation between Kenya and Israel.
President Ruto argued, “We are expanding our friendship to produce more efficiently to feed our people and export the surplus.”
President Herzog remarked that Israel’s cutting-edge agricultural technology would sustainably drive Kenya’s “massively transformative plan.”
