President William Ruto initiated the realization of his plan to send a substantial number of Kenyan workers abroad on Saturday. The Ministry of Labour officially launched the initial group of 500 workers who will be employed in diverse developed economies.

In a declaration, Florence Bore, the Labour Cabinet Secretary, disclosed that the group of 500 migrant workers will be employed across various nations, including Saudi Arabia, Oman, Germany, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

โ€œThe atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm as the workers eagerly gathered at the National Employment Agency offices in Kasarani, Nairobi, awaiting their departure,โ€ Bore stated.

โ€œIt is truly heartwarming to witness these opportunities opening up for these individuals, providing them with a chance to explore new horizons and make a positive impact in their chosen fields.โ€

On the day President William Ruto pledged to expedite the integration of Kenyan workers overseas, the departure of 500 migrant workers was officially announced.

Addressing a gathering in Western Kenya, Ruto stated that his government had successfully secured favorable wages for Kenyan citizens participating in the human capital exportation initiative overseas.

โ€œWe have agreed that youth going to work abroad be paid between Ksh150,000 and Ksh200,000,โ€ he remarked.

The leader of the nation mentioned that Kenya had an existing agreement to send out 2,500 nurses, with plans to progressively raise this figure to 500,000.

Ruto clarified that this aligned with his vision to guarantee that all Kenyans could secure meaningful employment.

Individuals who won’t have the opportunity to go abroad are expected to engage in digital employment and participate in the Affordable Housing Project, as stated by the President.
