Ruto Checklists His Key Achievements as President
Almost twelve months following his inauguration, President Ruto delineated the achievements of his government up until Sunday.
The leader of the nation was addressing the audience on the Kiririmbi program aired by Inooro TV, broadcasting from the Sagana State Lodge, which has been their residence since Thursday.
He mentioned that the most significant progress made during his tenure has been within the Education domain. The Education Taskforce, established upon his inauguration, has generated suggestions aimed at improving and organizing the sector.
“During the campaigns, we promised we would deal with matters of education, and you remember the issues we had with CBC, parents did not know what would happen to their children after class 6,” President Ruto said.
“My happiness today is that the task force we formed after I came to office has ironed these issues out and now our kids have a clear path to education,”
Continuing with the topic of education, President Ruto announced that his government has recruited an additional 56,000 teachers to tackle the shortage of educators in the nation. He also mentioned that they have taken action to improve Technical and Vocational Education and Training institutions (TVETs) and universities.
“We have also ironed out the issues with TVETs, you know in the past it was not clear how students would go about it in terms of scholarships, and capitation. We have solved that now,” he added.
“We also had issues with our universities, and most across the country were facing closure and we have addressed those issues in consultation with stakeholders,”

President Ruto additionally emphasized the significance of the agricultural industry in his catalog of achievements. He declared that his government was presently tackling the issue of Kenya’s elevated cost of living by actively intervening in the realm of farming.
He mentioned that a few of the measures involved enlisting farmers into a program according to their land size and reducing the expense of fertilizer.
“52 percent of Kenya’s cost of living is the cost of food, we have used over 12 Billion to subsidize fertilizer because that is the right thing,” he said.
“Today if you get on a plane and go around Kenya to Malaba, you will see how the maize crop looks,”
He states that the third achievement on his record is the successful management of Kenya’s government debt, ensuring its stability.
“Our first intervention in the supplementary budget, we removed Ksh.300 Billion of money that we would have borrowed,”
“We have also reduced our fiscal deficit from nearly Ksh. 1.1 trillion to Ksh.700M, we have removed close to Ksh.500B that we would have borrowed,”
President Ruto additionally discussed his accomplishments in the economy, highlighting that his leadership has successfully brought stability to the economic situation.

He mentioned that, after a decade, the National Government succeeded in clearing all outstanding payments to county governments in July.
“Hata governors walishangaa wananiuliza, hii pesa ushalipa tayari.. they were used to waiting for unto four months sometime for payments,” President Ruto added.
President Ruto also indicated that thanks to his government’s actions, Kenya managed to enhance its monthly savings foundation to Ksh.6 billion.
“Leo Mkenya analipa six percent inaenda kwa akiba, employer analysa 6 percent inaenda kwa akiba.. Ile pesa tulikuwa tunaweka kwa akiba, shilingi bilioni moja na laki tatu, leo tunaweka akiba bilioni sita kila mwezi.
The President is currently on a tour of Central Kenya where he is launching various development projects.
