Ruto Blasts ‘Power-Hungry’ Rivals: “Only God Can Remove Me!“
President William Ruto has responded to his critics, accusing them of focusing only on removing him from office instead of offering better solutions for the country.
Speaking in Lamu on Thursday, February 27, Ruto dismissed the attempts to push him out of leadership, stressing that leadership is determined by God.
“Don’t waste time listening to those who have no real plans. I have paid close attention to them, and all they talk about is how to get rid of me. They don’t have any solid plans or vision for Kenya. Let me remind them that leadership is in God’s hands. It is only God who decides who leads and who doesn’t, not them,” he said.
Earlier in February, Ruto also addressed discussions about whether he would serve only one term.
While speaking in Mandera on Tuesday, February 4, he made it clear that he is not worried about such talks. He insisted that his main focus is working for the Kenyan people rather than engaging in unnecessary political arguments ahead of the 2027 elections.

“Some people keep warning me that I will only serve one term, but that doesn’t bother me. Why would the 2027 elections be different from the previous ones?
“People need to relax. There are no elections this year or next year. Let them wait until 2027. Right now, my priority is development, and I assure Kenyans that I will deliver on my promises,” Ruto said.
The president also criticized those claiming he won’t serve beyond one term, saying his many years in leadership have prepared him well for the job.
“I will not allow anyone to threaten me about 2027. Let’s be honest, I have been in leadership for a long time. I was a Member of Parliament for 15 years, a deputy president for 10 years, and now I am the president.
“What exactly do they think they can threaten me with? The funny thing is that those who are trying to scare me have never even been president before. They have no idea what it takes to lead a country,” he added.
