    Raila Urges Kenyans to Brace for Nationwide Protests Prior to Crucial Finance Bill Address

    Raila Odinga, the leader of the Azimio La Umoja opposition coalition, has urged Kenyans to be prepared for nationwide protests if the government does not heed calls to reduce the cost of living.

    Mr. Odinga stated on Wednesday at Chungwa House. Where he met members of the Gusii Community residing in Nairobi, that the administration led by President William Ruto was deaf to Kenyans, including the so-called “hustlers” who supported them in the last elections.

    “The Kenya Kwanza leadership has refused to listen to the cries of hustlers, mama mboga, boda boda riders, and other Kenyans who can barely afford two meals a day, and is insisting on imposing more taxes on an already suffering populace,” said Odinga.

    The opposition leader announced on Thursday. That he and his colleagues in the Azimio La Umoja Coalition would address the nation. On the controversial Finance Bill 2023 and “blow the trumpet” to inform Kenyans of the way forward.

    “They intend to introduce the controversial bill for a second reading in the House of Representatives tomorrow, and then have the Treasury CS present the budget statement on Thursday of the following week.” They are determined to pass it, but Kenyans will oppose it,” he said.

    The leader of Azimio stated that eight months into the Kenya Kwanza administration. Kenyans have suffered more than ever under previous regimes and are now exhausted.

    “Kenyans are hurting. They are in distress. They came to power through the back door because they were unprepared to govern, and now they want to impose their incompetence on poor Kenyans, he said.
