Raila Odinga Criticizes President Ruto on Shakahola Massacre Response
Raila Odinga, the leader of the Azimio party. Has criticized President William Ruto over the ongoing discovery of the Shakahola massacre.
In a statement released on Monday, Raila criticized Ruto’s plans to establish a judicial tribunal to investigate the shocking massacre.
According to the opposition leader, the president lacks such authority under the new constitution. And only the legislature, with the advice of the Judicial Service Commission (JSC), can establish such a tribunal.
“Only the legislature can create a subordinate court or tribunal through an act of the legislature. Raila cited the constitution to criticize Ruto. Stating that only parliament can determine the jurisdiction of a court or an independent tribunal.

The leader of Azimio went on to accuse the President. Stating that he is complicit in the horror in Shakahola and should provide Kenyans with explanations.
Raila asserted that Ruto, his deputy Rigathi Gachagua. And their spouses are associated with the Shakahola massacre cult pastors and that State House has become a Shakahola annex.
“In the matter of Shakahola and the expansion of cult activity in the nation. Ruto is just as much a suspect as all the cult pastors of Shakahola and beyond. Raila added, “He owes the people of Kenya an explanation before claiming to be attempting to solve the problem.”
He went on to provide examples of the president, his deputy, and their spouses defending the Christian faith and associating with the church before and after Ruto’s election.
The Shakahola massacre has been linked to cult leader Paul Mackenzie after over 110 bodies were discovered buried in mass graves on his property.
Mackenzie is in custody pending the exhumation and investigation of additional bodies. Ezekiel Odero, another pastor, also face arrests after links to deaths in his Mavueni, Kilifi County, church.
