Vice President Rigathi Gachagua is determined to end the illegal sale of alcoholic beverages in the Mt. Kenya region, which he deems a threat to future generations.

Gachagua on adolescents who sold him illegal substances In another context, the vice president described how youths in Ruaka, Kiambu County, attempted to sell him illegal substances.

In a multisectoral meeting on eradicating illicit brew in Central Kenya, the second-in-command lamented that the sale of illegal substances has become so widespread that youths no longer fear selling prohibited substances in public.

He recounted to the administration officers and political leaders of the Central Kenya region how youths approached the vice president with illegal substances and asked him to purchase them because they would have helped him.

“You have granted these individuals liberty. On my way to a funeral, as I passed through Ruaka, young people attempted to sell me illegal substances; imagine the vice president’s experience. They said, “You, Riggy G, take this to advance,” Gachagua explained.
