Raila mourns ODM Migori Chairman Makabong’o
On Tuesday, Raila Odinga, the leader of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party, expressed his condolences to the family and friends of Philip Makabong’o, the Migori ODM Chairperson.
In a statement, Raila praised the departed as a brave and resolute person devoted to fulfilling his duties in his role.
The ex-prime minister additionally guaranteed the deceased leader’s family that the party would offer its assistance throughout the mourning phase.
He also urged the leadership of the county party to support Makabong’o’s family as they got ready to bury him.

“The party leadership notes with deep appreciation, courage, and determination with which Mr Makabong’o served ODM in Migori, sometimes against great odds. Mr Odinga assures the family of his friendship and support at this difficult time.
“He further appeals to the county party leadership to stand with and support the family as they prepare to lay Mr. Makabong’o to rest,” Raila said.
The ODM party declared the passing of Makabong’o on Sunday, December 24, 2023.
During that period, the party didn’t reveal the cause of his passing, but they expressed their sympathies and emphasized his valuable contributions to the party.
ODM has announced the sorrowful news of Mr. Philip Makabong’o’s demise, the esteemed Chairman of ODM Migori County Coordinating Committee, and Secretary of C. Phillip was a significant figure within our Party, not just locally in Migori but across the nation. ODM extends condolences and wishes his soul to rest in peace.
