Raila: Brace for Wednesday’s Revolutionary Maandamano!

Azimio La Umoja, leader of the One Kenya Party, asserts that the series of anti-government demonstrations scheduled to begin on Wednesday will transform the nation.

This is despite the government’s warning that the three-day demonstrations will not be permitted.

“Be prepared for the game-changing Maandamano beginning on Wednesday,” said Raila Odinga on Monday.

Earlier on Monday, the coalition Azimio la Umoja One Kenya reiterated that the plan to conduct anti-government protests from Wednesday to Friday is still in effect despite the government’s stern warnings.

Monday at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Foundation (JOOF), National Assembly Minority Leader Opiyo Wandayi stated that they will not back down from their constitutional duty to conduct peaceful protests.

The member of parliament for Ugunja argued that neither President William Ruto nor any other institution has the power to prevent the planned protests.

“The scheduled peaceful protests for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of this week are proceeding as previously announced by our leaders. These protests will continue by Article 37 of our Constitution, which guarantees the freedom of peaceful assembly and picketing, and no authority has the authority to suspend the operation of Article 37, including William Ruto, Kithure Kindiki, and Rigathi Gachagua, he stated.

“Anyone who claims to be able to stop demonstrations is delusional because they have no authority.”

Simultaneously, he stated that the petition campaign to oust President Ruto remains on track and will occur alongside the demonstrations.
