Raila Blames ORPP for Failing to Implement Jubilee Leadership Shifts
Raila Odinga, the leader of Azimio la Umoja, has issued a stern warning against the Registrar of Political Parties, Ann Nderitu, for failing to implement the Jubilee party’s leadership changes.
The leader of Azimio contested the Nderitu’s decision to uphold the expulsion of Jeremiah Kioni and David Murathe, arguing that the party had already made new changes to its leadership during Monday’s National Delegates Conference (NDC).
Tuesday, while distributing food to flood victims in Alego Usonga, he demanded that the new changes be made official and that the faction led by Jeremiah Kioni be recognized as the Jubilee party leaders.
“We will not tolerate government interference in the affairs of coalition parties,” he declared.

“We, therefore, urge the registrar to move swiftly and register the new Jubilee party officials; failure to do so will have consequences.”
Nderitu confirmed on Tuesday that Kioni and Murathe have been expelled from the party. Adding that the Kanini Kega-led team is the proper team to lead party operations.
Kioni and Murathe wrote to the Office of Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP). After last week’s expulsion from the Kanini Kega-led Jubilee faction.
After Kega’s team elected new party leadership, the conflict within the former ruling party led by ex-President Uhuru Kenyatta escalated.
They chose the nominated MP Sabina Chege to replace Kenyatta as the leader of the Jubilee Party.
Kioni, Murathe, and treasurer Kagwe Gichochi were dismissed for gross incompetence, disregard for party organs, and disregard for party headquarters.
The team of Kioni continues to insist that Kega’s expulsion violates the law.
