Race Against Time: IG Koome’s 5-Hour Deadline to Produce Abducted Sickly Youth and Pregnant Wife
Inspector General of Police Japhet Koome received a court order on Wednesday to produce Issa Osman Guyo’s body by 4:00 pm the same day.
According to Benjamin Njeru, Guyo’s lawyer speaking to Gossipa2z.com, the young man, who is in poor health and caring for his pregnant wife, disappeared on Saturday and has not been located.
Subsequently, Guyo’s legal team filed a petition at the High Court of Isiolo, naming IG Japhet Koome, the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), the Attorney General, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), and the National Intelligence Service (NIS) as respondents.
The petition alleges that Guyo was abducted in Isiolo Town and forced into a black Prado by armed individuals believed to be police officers. The lawyers suspect he may have been taken to Nairobi, but his exact whereabouts are unknown.
The petition expresses concern about Guyo’s health, as he requires medication and has a pregnant wife who needs his care and support.

Responding to the petition filed on July 8, the court ordered the police to locate the missing youth, categorizing the case as urgent.
Earlier, Issa’s brother Abdi Osman Guyo confirmed that his brother’s health is fragile and requires constant medication to survive.
Abdi emphasized the potential deterioration of Issa’s health if he does not receive his medication promptly, particularly given his recent marriage.
Joshua Okayo, President of the Kenya School of Law (KSL), recounted his abduction experience, where he was blindfolded, interrogated aggressively, and later abandoned near the Maragua River in Murang’a County.
Okayo described being driven around without direction, physically assaulted, and pressured for information related to national protests, which he could not provide.
Recent reports indicate over 40 abduction cases, with Amnesty International reporting the discovery of a deceased protestor believed to have been abducted.
