Questions Raised Over Teacher’s Body Found Dangling From Kiosk Front

Kisii residents are questioning the passing away of a teacher and activist who died under mysterious circumstances on Sunday, April 7.

The teacher, Duke Nyabaro’s body was found dangling at a kiosk front in Getembe Estate Kisii town by locals.

It is reported that the teacher did not get back home on Saturday night after a night out at an entertainment joint in Kisii Town.

However, the residents have ruled out suicide pointing out that the kiosk’s structure was too weak to hold up his body weight.

The teacher’s feet were seen to be touching the ground, hence the questionable suicide verdict.

Alternative unverified reports indicate that the teacher was killed and his body moved to the site where it was found.

His family has also reported that they were not aware of the teacher having any disputes with anyone.

Police have confirmed launching a probe into the matter with the County Commander Charles Kasses stating that investigations are ongoing to confirm whether it was murder or suicide.

The body has been moved to the morgue awaiting an autopsy to be conducted.

However, this is not the first case of a person found dead and the body found hanging in the recent past.

On March 17, a retired teacher’s body was found hanging on a tree in Nyamira County after he went missing after a trip to Kisii town.

The teacher’s family, speaking to journalists, stated that he had gone to collect a debt owed to him after completing the sale of a piece of land and a car.

However, he failed to return home and his body was later found hanging on a tree in Nyamira after an entire night of searching.
