    President Ruto’s 4-Day Nyanza Tour Starts Tomorrow

    President William Ruto will on Friday, October 6, embark on a four-day official tour of the Nyanza region which will culminate with the launching of various development projects in Kisumu, Homa Bay, Siaya, and Migori counties in line with Kenya Kwanza’s Bottom Up agenda.

    In Kisumu, President Ruto will commission the groundbreaking of the Ksh.1 billion Kabonyo Regional Fisheries and Aquaculture Center of Excellence in the Nyando constituency.

    He will likewise commission the Lake Basin Mall, and launch the Koru-Bible College Road as well as the MV Uhuru 2, a ship that will operate on Lake Victoria and enhance transport and trade in the region.

    “In Siaya County, the President will launch the upgrading to the Bitumen standard of the 27km Bondo-Uyawi-Kibanga-Liunda Road and a digital laboratory at Mutumbu Technical Training Institute,” State House Spokesperson Hussein Mohamed said in a statement to newsrooms.

    “(The President will) launch the construction of a Level 4 hospital in Ugenya constituency, a vital step towards enhancing healthcare Infrastructure in the region.”

    In Homa Bay, the Head of State will kick start the construction of the 53km Mfangano Island Ring Road and upgrade the 74km Mbita-Sindo-Kiabuya-Sori road to bitumen standards.

    He will likewise visit the Victory Fish Farms in Sindo and initiate the rehabilitation of the Homa Bay Pier and other piers, such as the Kendu Bay, Mbita, and Asembo Bay Piers, in a bid to augment marine transport and tourism in the area.

    “In Migori County, the President will launch the Last Mile water connectivity project at Kegonga, Kuria East, ensuring improved access to clean water and commission a tuition block at Rongo University, a vital step in promoting education and skills development,” said Mohamed.

    “He will also commission Linn Hospital, strengthening healthcare infrastructure in the county, and launch the construction of the Mabera affordable Housing project in Kuria West constituency, a multifaceted project that addresses housing needs and community development.”

    Ruto will similarly hold discussions with leaders from the four counties before chairing a Cabinet meeting at the Kisumu State Lodge.
