Politicians in Panic: UDA MP Event Descends into Chaos
Saturday, in Bomet County, a National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF) event hosted by Bomet Women Representative Linet Toto and attended by various leaders descended into chaos.
Youths aligned with Senator Wakili Sigei and those aligned with Governor Hillary Barchok clashed after National Assembly Majority Whip Sylvanus Osoro took the stage.
During his speech, Osoro questioned the political trajectory of the community and disregarded the current trend of influential politicians positioning themselves as regional kingpins as impractical.
According to Osoro, the nation has more pressing issues to address, and the politics of kingpins should take a back position so that leaders can focus on these issues.
The South Mugirango representative responded to political realignments in the North Rift region, much to the crowd’s delight.
”This is not the time to create regional kingpins, we only have one kingpin in Kenya and that is President William Ruto,” said Osoro before chaos erupted.

However, Osoro was unable to complete his speech as clashes between opposing factions forced senior leaders to flee for safety.
Governor Hillary Barchok, along with other invited visitors, did not address the audience before the event ended prematurely.
Following the event, Bomet Woman Representative Linet Toto took to social media to characterize it as a success while downplaying the chaos.
”The launch of NGAAF countywide projects and Women’s Economic Empowerment (WEE) at Bomet Green Stadium was a resounding success, thanks to the dedication and collaborative spirit of our esteemed leaders,” stated Toto.
”With the support of our community and the dedication of these esteemed leaders, I do not doubt that we will continue to make great strides in our pursuit of a brighter, more inclusive future for all,” she added.
Numerous influential leaders hope that by positioning themselves as their communities’ kingpins, they will increase their visibility, solidify their political capital, and be in a position to negotiate for government perks.
