A camp that had been set up by members of parliament affiliated with the Azimio la Umoja Coalition at the entrance to President William Ruto’s office at Harambee House has been dispersed by officers of the police force.

Members of the delegation included Stewart Madzayo (Senator for Kilifi), Enoch Wambua (Senator for Kitui), Robert Mbui (Member of Parliament for Kathiani), Rosa Buyu (Woman Representative for Kisumu), Edwin Sifuna (Senator for Nairobi), TJ Kajwang (Member of Parliament for Ruaraka), and others.

The legislators, carrying letters in their hands, made their way to Ruto’s office.

Senator Sifuna, while speaking to the security officers stationed at the gate of Harambee House, announced that the protesters would be marching to other government offices today to deliver their petitions.

“All that remains is for us to deliver this letter to the appropriate individual. Inform them that they should come and take it.

Soon after, the police began firing tear gas canisters to disperse the legislators.

The march takes place on the day that Raila Odinga, the leader of the Azimio movement, has called for planned anti-government protests.
