    Police Officer Killed, Another Injured While Escorting KCSE Papers In Siaya

    A distressing event transpired during the delivery of KCSE exam papers to Mahero Secondary School situated in Alego Usonga, Siaya County, resulting in the sudden and unfortunate demise of a police officer on Monday morning.

    In the course of their journey, the officer, accompanied by a colleague and the center manager, became targets of an ambush conducted by assailants wielding primitive weapons whose identities remained undisclosed.ย 

    In the midst of the ensuing chaos, the center manager fled the scene in search of safety, while the attackers inflicted fatal injuries on one officer and caused harm to the other. The assailants fled with the officers’ firearms before escaping.

    Upon receiving notification of the incident, security personnel promptly arrived at the location. Immediate medical attention was administered to the injured officer, who was swiftly transported to Siaya County Referral Hospital for urgent treatment. 

    Unfortunately, the deceased officer’s body was conveyed to the hospital’s mortuary following the tragic turn of events.

    The authorities are actively investigating this distressing incident and working tirelessly to apprehend the perpetrators responsible for this grievous attack during the transportation of crucial examination materials.
