Police Arrest 47 Ethiopian Nationals Travelling In a Truck Along Nairobi – Mombasa Highway
On Saturday, law enforcement detained 47 individuals from Ethiopia in Makindu, Makueni County, on suspicion of unlawfully entering the country.
The individuals from another country were detained in the town situated along the Mombasa – Nairobi Highway while they were journeying in a truck.
As per the reports, the truck was on its way to South Africa, the intended destination for all 47 Ethiopian citizens aboard.
“We received information that there were people who came out of a container and we rushed there and managed to arrest 47 Ethiopians and the driver,” Makindu police boss Jashon Polloh told the press.
Poloh claimed that the foreigners lacked documentation proving they had properly followed the required procedures for entering the country.
“They were traveling in a truck and might have navigated on their way from the Kenyan border and managed to reach here but due to the situation inside the container it became unbearable,” Polloh noted.
“When they reached a petrol station near Makindu Town, maybe they were complaining and the vehicle stopped probably to allow them to come out to get fresh air.”

He additionally pointed out that inquiries had started to determine the goals of the extraterrestrial beings.
The group of 47 individuals from other countries was brought to the Makindu Police Station and detained pending their court appearance. Additionally, the truck they were using was moved to the police station for further investigation.
In a comparable event that occurred in October of the previous year, two law enforcement officers were apprehended on accusations of illegally bringing 13 foreigners into the country.
Based on the police report, there were four individuals from Eritrea, one from Sudan, and the remaining individuals were from Ethiopia.
“A team comprising of regular police from Lokichar Police Station and DCI Turkana South laid ambush and later intercepted the suspected vehicle near Town Chini area in Lokichar,” read part of police statement.
The authorities also succeeded in finding an AK-47 rifle and a magazine in the Toyota vehicle transporting the foreigners, who were subsequently detained at Lokichar Police Station.
